What Reflexology Isn't

Reflexology is not a deep tissue massage for the feet.

  • Is it arguably better! Because reflexologists target the reflexes of the feet (face and hands) and not the musculature, it has a full body effect as well as a local effect.

Reflexology is not a spa treatment.

  • Although it feels great and is relaxing, reflexology isn't just for kicks (pun intended!). Reflexology is a therapeutic bodywork and should be treated as a part of a health management program rather than a 'quick fix' relax session. To get the best benefit of reflexology, consider a routine monthly or bi-weekly schedule. You wouldn't just eat once a week, would you?

Reflexology does not have a hands on time limit like massage therapy.

  • While you may have an hour blocked for your session, your session may not include one hour of hands on time. This time is for you to get settled, go over any updates or changes in your health or emotions. You can however expect about 45 minutes of hands on time depending on your situation. If you're receiving hand and foot reflexology, expect 1hr10-1hr20 minutes.

Reflexology is not a replacement for a doctor or medical advice.

  • While many people find that reflexology on a regular basis is the contributing beneficial aspect of their overall health and well being, check with your primary health provider before receiving reflexology and always see your doctor if you have any health concerns. Reflexology is legally listed as an alternative and complimentary therapy for general health.

Intention

Expectations

So you can enjoy your full session, I ask that you  arrive on time. Arriving late to a session will shorten your session and still require full payment of services. Click here to read the cancellation policy.

The client intake is a very important part of reflexology. This is where we'll delve into what's harming you physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

If you are pregnant, or trying to become pregnant, please let me know! Maternity and Fertility Reflexology is different and will require more client intake forms and time to understand your situation.

Come prepared to be yourself and relax! Know that this is a safe and respectful place for your feelings, emotions, and physical conditions.

Wear loose and comfortable clothing, making sure for foot reflexology the pants can be pushed comfortably above the knee. It’s best leave jewelry at home if getting hand or facial reflexology. Many people are so relaxed they’ll forget it! Facials be sure you’re ok with a little mussed up hair. It’s usually best not to wear makeup.

I ask that your cell phone be turned off during each session.

  1. On your first session you'll be given a Client Intake Form and Contract of Services to fill out. This ensures that I can design a Reflexology Protocol which will most benefit you on that day. If you'd like to prepare them ahead of time, head over to the Goodies! Page for client information downloads. We'll talk about medical history, lifestyle, and emotional patterns. Be prepared to answer some very personal questions, after all, this is about you!

  2. When the intake is complete you will receive the best part...the reflexology! Each session is tailored to your needs. It will last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

  3. When the session is complete, please be aware that getting up timely is appropriate as there may be another client waiting for their appointment. I love answering your questions after a session and take each one seriously. Sometimes there may not be time to answer them in the depth that I would like. You can always schedule one 15 minute complimentary phone consultation per session or send me an e-mail at LKNReflexology@gmail.com Please note that I do not use Facebook messenger or texting as a means of communication for PR.

  4. Each followup session will include updating your notes on any changes as well as the reflexology. Your followup sessions may not take as long as your initial session.                                                                            .

Flow of Session

As your reflexologist, I abide by the ARCB’s Code of Ethics. All your information, including our discussions, remain confidential. (What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, baby!) I will always record detailed observations of each session and provide appropriate support where needed. I will always give you the time you need for reflexology.

I will always use appropriate pressure. Sometimes you might want more pressure, but it may stimulate a reflex too much for you. Be assured that even the lightest touch can stimulate the signal that your body needs.

When you make an appointment you will receive a confirmation e-mail and a reminder e-mail. To ensure you're getting these e-mails, make sure to mark LKNReflexology@gmail.com as 'not SPAM'. Failure to attend a session for not ensuring your appointment time will still result in a cancellation fee. Click here to read the cancellation policy.

Thank You!
